Our Mission
Rekindle is a student-driven philanthropic organization founded in 2023 designed to help people and their family members affected by dementia.
Through partnership with experienced professionals such as doctors, therapists, and dementia specialists, we create kits, care packages, cards, and host interactive events to match the needs of our patients.
With this process, Rekindle's aim is to contribute positively to a patients journey with dementia by offering meaningful engagement opportunities and assisting them in coping with the emotional impacts of dementia.

The Problem
During a 3-month study at a dementia care facility, Professor Cohen-Mansfield found that 63% of the time, patients were inactive and lacked structured social activities due to staff shortages. This inactivity can worsen agitation, loneliness, and depression in dementia patients.
The Inspiration
Kate S., founder of Rekindle, drew inspiration from her annual trips to Korea to care for her grandmother battling Alzheimer's and disabilities. This familial experience highlights how dementia affects entire families, not just the patient.
